I
have been practicing acupuncture since 1988, the
last 12 years in Ventura County. I attended Emperor's
College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Monica,
a 3-year course, and then received my state license.
I studied with Master Japanese Acupuncturist, Miki Shima
for the
next 6 years combining Japanese Acupuncture with the
practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I attended
the School of Classical 5 Element Acupuncture for 1-year
post-graduate
work and
was certified
as a Classical 5 Element Acupuncturist in 2003.
My
interest in medicine started in 1971, when I worked as
a physician's assistant in a women's health clinic for
2 years. This experience took me into 10 years of work
as a lay midwife. During that time I was looking
for a system of medicine that worked at a deeper level,
and studied massage, nutrition,
herbology and yoga. I became a licensed massage therapist
in 1976 and practiced until
receiving my acupuncture license.
I
have two office locations, in Ojai and Ventura.
